iBook Team Members
Olivia VerrillOlivia was a 2017 graduate of Windham High School, and she quite literally worked on the project, in either its print or digital form, from her freshman year until the time she graduated. Olivia was one of our student artists/designers. She was responsible for the look and feel of the print piece, and when it came time to make the digital version, she singlehandedly transferred the material from its print form into the iBooks document. Her work allowed the rest of the team to redesign pages, add digital elements, and update and enhance text. From start to finish on this project, Olivia remained a dedicated and essential part of our team.

Mandi and Libby joined the team at the end of their sophomore year with a group of students who were interested in adapting Discovering Water into a digital format, and since that time (they are seniors who will graduate in the spring of 2018), they have worked throughout the school year and during summer vacations to bring the iBook to life. They developed content quizzes for each chapter and a cumulative review for the end of the book. They also scripted and filmed introductory videos for each of the chapters, to give students a preview of what to expect as they read on. They have edited and updated the book as necessary for digital publication, they've learned to create a book in iBooks, and they are about to submit their final draft for publication on the iBooks store.
In each of these cases, the girls have worked in collaboration with each other, teachers and community members productively and professionally. They have dedicated countless hours of their time, without promise of reward or compensation, to improve their community through this partnership with the Portland Water District and their dedication to publishing this book.
